Academy defender Tommy Smith has been called up to the England squad for UEFA European U17 Championship elite qualifying round games with Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia and Azerbaijan later this month. Smith won his first three caps for the U17s at last month's Algarve Tournament. |

TWTD has learnt that academy central defender Tommy Smith has turned down the chance to play for New Zealand to commit his international future to England. The 16-year-old qualifies to play for both countries and was recently named in each of their U17 squads. |
